Canadian Dollar/U.S. Dollar (CAD/USD) Futures Futures

Canada is an oft underestimated economy on the world financial stage. As one of the commodity currencies, the Canadian dollar/US dollar futures contract offers direct access into this natural resource rich country. For some traders, the Canadian dollar is a way to take a position on Canada’s stature in the global oil market, mining sector, or lumber. It also opens up the possibilities for other trading strategies that include crude oil futures, which is correlated to the Canadian dollar, or “little dollar.”
CAD/USD trades almost 24-hours per day on the CME Globex trading platform, with a contract size of 100,000 Canadian dollars. There is also an E-micro contract that is sized at $10,000 US dollars.
